Following the motto "100 Years of Struggle for Peace and Equality", the Young Socialists (Jusos) in the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and the Socialist Youth of Germany - the Falcons (SJD - Die Falken) will host a great ceremony. Together with 1.500 youth from all over the world and scores of guests of honour they will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the International Union of Socialist Youth, in short IUSY, from August 23 to August 26 at Berlin Postbahnhof at the Ostbahnhof.

The starting signal will be given by Klaus Wowereit, Governing Mayor of Berlin, on August 23 at Postbahnhof. Friday, August 24 will be dedicated to political discussions with workshops and four parallelly held high-level conferences on peace, international solidarity, decent work and feminism. The highlight of the event will be the ceremonial event at Friedrichstadtpalast on August 25: Austrian Chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer, SPD-Chairman Kurt Beck, German Federal Minister Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul, UNDP Director Kemal Derviş and the President of the Socialist International, George A. Papandreou, are some among the many guests of honour who will play a part in the ceremonial event.

The centennial celebrations will take place from August 23 to August 26 at Postbahnhof at the Ostbahnhof, Strasse der Pariser Kommune 8, 10243 Berlin.

The ceremonial event will be held on August 25 at 10 am at Friedrichstadtpalast, Friedrichstr. 107, 10117 Berlin.
